Common questions
How fresh are the rates?
The displayed rates come from the European Central Bank’s daily reference rates, fetched via the Frankfurter API. ECB publishes a single set of rates each business day at roughly 16:00 CET. There are no updates on weekends or ECB holidays — Saturday and Sunday show Friday’s numbers.
Our backend re-checks the rate hourly to deliver alerts, but the underlying number only changes once per business day.
My alert hasn’t fired even though the rate crossed my target.
A few things to check:
- Free tier alerts run on your device while the app is online. If your phone has been offline, asleep, or the app has been force-quit for an extended period, the local check may have missed the crossing. Reopen the app — we’ll check again immediately.
- Pro tier alerts are checked hourly on our server, even when the app is closed. If you’re on Pro and an alert hasn’t fired within an hour of the crossing, please email us.
- The rate the alert is checked against is the daily ECB reference rate, not an intraday market price. A target that was briefly hit on a market data feed may not have been hit at the ECB fix.
How do I get RateGlance Pro?
Settings → “Upgrade to Pro” or any ”+ NEW ALERT” button when you’ve hit the free-tier alert cap. RateGlance Pro is a one-time purchase (the current price is shown in the app and on the store) — there’s no subscription. If you delete and reinstall the app, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
I bought Pro but it’s still showing as Free.
This applies to Pro on any of our apps:
- In the app’s Settings, tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase will reattach to the device.
- If that doesn’t work, make sure you’re signed into the same store account — the Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) — that made the original purchase.
- Still stuck? Email us with your store receipt: on iOS, the email receipt from Apple (or App Store → Purchase History); on Android, Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history. We’ll sort it out.
I want a refund.
In-app purchases are sold and refunded by Apple or Google, not by us:
- iOS / App Store: open the App Store → tap your profile → Purchase History → tap the app → “Report a Problem” → “Request a refund” (or visit reportaproblem.apple.com).
- Android / Google Play: open the Play Store → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history → tap the order → “Request a refund” (or visit play.google.com/store/account).
Apple or Google makes the final call.
I want my data deleted.
It depends on the app, because most of ours keep your data on your device:
- Kaia, AutoPilot, and Murmur run entirely on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes everything — there’s nothing on our servers to remove.
- Cadence is on-device too, except for any list you’ve shared. Leave or delete the shared list inside Cadence — that clears it from our server and (on Android) from the Google Block Store backup. Note that on Android a plain uninstall doesn’t remove a shared-list membership, since it’s restored on reinstall; leaving the list is the reliable way to remove it.
- ClearCast only stores anything on our server if you turned on notifications. Turn notifications off in the app (which clears your row) or uninstall.
- RateGlance keeps a per-device random UUID and, for Pro users, your alert configurations on our backend. Email [email protected] describing the device and we’ll remove it.
- Countdown is on-device except for events you’ve shared. Rotating an event’s invite code cuts off access immediately, but the shared copy stays on our server — email [email protected] with the event name and we’ll delete it.
For anything you can’t clear yourself, email [email protected] and we’ll handle it.
I have a feature request.
Please send it to [email protected]. We read every email, even when we can’t reply individually.
Does Cadence work offline?
Yes. Cadence is on-device by default — your tasks, lists, and a cache of your calendar live only on your phone. The only time it uses the network is when you create or join a shared list, which syncs through our server so the people you share with stay up to date. If you never share a list, Cadence makes no network requests.
Does Cadence change my calendar?
No. Cadence reads your device calendar to show events next to your tasks, but it never creates, edits, or deletes calendar events.
How do shared lists work, and how do I remove that data?
When you share a list, the tasks in that list (titles, dates, completion) plus the display name you choose sync to our server so collaborators can see updates. There’s no account — just a random per-device ID and a token stored securely on your phone. To remove the data, leave or delete the shared list inside Cadence; that clears it from the server. Tasks in lists you haven’t shared never leave your device.
How do I get Cadence Pro?
Cadence Pro unlocks recurring tasks, unlimited lists, shared lists, home-screen widgets, and weekly/monthly briefings. It’s available as a one-time lifetime unlock or an annual subscription, purchased through the App Store or Google Play; the current price is shown live in the app. If you reinstall, use Restore Purchases.
Does Murmur upload my voice recordings?
No. Recording, transcription, and the polish step all run on your device — Apple’s on-device speech engine on newer iPhones, the Whisper model everywhere else. The only thing Murmur downloads is the model file itself (a one-time download per model). Your audio and transcripts never leave your phone, and uninstalling the app deletes them.
How does Countdown event sharing work?
Sharing an event generates an 8-character invite code. Anyone you give the code to can follow the countdown and co-edit it live; the event’s fields and background photo sync through our server while it’s shared. Rotate the code from the event’s share screen at any time — the old code stops working immediately. Events you never share stay entirely on your device.
